Pikes Bay Sanitary District Commission The Pikes Bay Sanitary District (PBSD) encompasses about 40% of the land area of the Township but has service lines only in about 5% of the District. The Pikes Bay Sanitary District (PBSD) Commissioners are popularly elected and are charged with governing, on behalf of the Town residents included in the Sanitary District, the Pikes Bay sanitation facilities, pipelines and associated services. Waste generated in the PBSD and from the City of Bayfield is piped to the treatment facility located in Bayfield Township. The treatment facility is owned and operated by the Greater Bayfield Waste Water Treatment Commission whose board is comprised of three representatives from PBSD and three from the City of Bayfield. Located in, and serving parts of the Town of Bayfield the Plant is governed in partnership with the City.
